Rae Coley, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama and have resided in Fayette County since 2000. My husband and I have been married since 2002. We are proud to share our home with two rescue dogs, Sadie and Darcy. Our rescue dogs, Sadie and Darcy, work with me and are a part of each session. They have been known to help break the ice and provide a relaxed atmosphere, helping visitors feel at home and comfortable.
When not working, I enjoy Auburn Football, photography, spending time with family, and serving on the Fayette County Humane Society Fundraising Committee.
Since 1996, I have worked in a variety of social service settings. I have worked as a health care, juvenile justice, and psychiatric social worker. I also worked for seven years in elementary and high school settings as a special education teacher in Fayette and Spalding counties. Since 2009, I have worked in my private therapy practice counseling adolescents and adults.
I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1995 and The University of Alabama with a Master of Social Work degree in 1996. I obtained the (LCSW) license to practice clinical social work independently in 2009.
I am committed to personal and professional growth. I have post graduate training in the third generation Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies of Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Training, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy strategies. I am also a certified Imago Relationship Therapist. In therapy, I primarily utilize Mindfulness and behavioral based therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. I strive to empower individuals by sharing researched based information regarding issues they are facing. I enjoy working in concert with clients and their physicians and/or other health care providers.
